Background: Mace Software creates games and utilities for the pc platform. Our primary marketing method is the shareware model. With shareware, we make our products available for download to the public free of cost. These shareware versions are either time or feature limited. This allows the perspective customer the opportunity to try before they buy. If the user decides they enjoy the shareware product, they can use the order links programmed into the product to order the game. Once we receive an order, we provide the customer a personalized registration code that converts the downloaded shareware version into a full featured, non-expiring version. Why An Affiliate Program? For shareware marketing to be successful, it is critical to get our products downloaded by as many people as possible. Since only of a portion of the people who download the products actually decide to purchase, the more downloads, the more orders. To reach the broadest market possible, it is important to make the products available on as many web sites as possible. Even the most successful web sites only reach a relatively small portion of the potential market. Thats why we use the affiliate program to get our games listed on a broad range of web sites. Whats in it for you? By making our products available for download on your web site, you can earn a commission for each purchase that originates from a game downloaded from your site. This commission is $1.00 per copy ordered. Considering the purchase price of each product is under $15.00, we hope you agree this is a very generous commission. We make this possible by compiling your assign affiliate ID number into the downloadable file you are given for distribution. What is required of you? You decide how to promote the downloadable file we supply you with. Our only requirement is that you store the file on your web server and follow the terms of our affiliate agreement. We feel that only you can determine the best means of getting your users to download our product. Who may apply? Since the affiliate program does take a fair amount of time on our part to manage, we generally only accept as affiliates only those indivuals and companies who can place our products in front of a large audience either by an established web site, software distribution channels, or in the case of eSafe2Bid, by eBay Power Sellers. If your application does not clearly demonstrate that you have the ability to market to a fairly large audience, we will most likely have to decline your application. How to get started?
